Sexy Saturday Songs

My 5 fav sexy Saturday songs and the bold 1970’s.

  1. Roop Tera Mastana

I have never seen a man look at a woman the way Rajesh Khanna did in this song. There was passion in his eyes which showed the yearning to make love.  The year was 1969 and I was 8 years old and wanted this man to look at me the same way (who says that children do not have sexual feelings - I definitely did!) and 47 years later I am yet to meet a man who will look at me or his woman and ignite the fire of Aradhana and its evergreen song Roop Tera Mastaana. That was the legend of Rajesh Khanna who redefined romance in Indian cinema.

  2. Kali Palak Teri Gori

He had featured in an American magazine among the 50 sexiest men in the world and funnily in his hobbies section the magazine said GIRLS!! His looks could kill. He had a beautiful face and body to match. It was in 1972 that I saw a film called Do Chor where he sang “Kaali Palak Teri Gori” with Tanuja clad in a towel seducing the most gorgeous man Dharmendra in a pair of shorts showing off his thundering thighs which possibly explained my soft corner for men who have good thighs. Once someone asked how I became gay and my reply was that “Dharmendra made me gay”

  3. Mile Mile, Do Badan

In 1973, Vijay Anand directed Dharmendra and Rakhee Gulzar in Blackmail which depicted the strained relationship between a couple who could never consummate their marriage because suspicion drove them apart. As happens in every Hindi film, their issues get resolved in the climax, in a villain’s den, but they have to escape. The song “mile mile, do badan” is shot in the midst of a chase scene where the couple is hounded by dozens of henchmen and sniffer dogs while they hide under a pile of wooden blocks and finally resolve their differences while making love hidden beneath the wood with the fear of being caught. This is one of most erotic songs that I had seen and I need not emphasize that Dharmendra was the best looking actor of Indian cinema.

  4. Bhool Gaya Sab Kuch

The film in its publicity campaign boasted of over 100 embraces and 86 kisses for the first time in Indian cinema. Julie, made in 1975 was a remake of a Malayalam hit, Chattakari, and became the launch pad for southern star Laxmi in Hindi cinema. A sensitive love story of an Christian girl and a Hindu Brahmin boy who commit the cardinal sin of having sex before marriage.  She has to deal societal stigma for bearing a love child from her lover, who is totally oblivious of this fact. If you think that today’s generation is bold then I would suggest they check out some of Indian cinemas made in the 1970’s. The film had amazing songs, coupled with magical chemistry between Laxmi and Vikram and well, Bhool Gaya Sab Kuch...

  5. Yashomati Maiyya Se Bole Nandlala

The film Satyam Shivam Sundaram was Raj Kapoor’s 20 year dream come true. The story of a woman with a scarred face gifted with an angelic voice went haywire in translation. It became famous for its sexiness and starred one of filmdom's most voluptuous beauties, Zeenat Aman, as a tribal girl Rupa who has an unmatched figure, along with the handsome Shashi Kapoor. She shed clothes without inhibitions and never stopped looking sexy. The year 1978 also marked the end of the Indian Censor Board's 30 year old ban on kissing scenes and saw a dashing Shashi Kapoor nervously kissing his beloved Rupa on her lips while she sang Yashomati Maiyya Se Bole Nandlala.
